Small burst of creativity

So, before Jack's birth, when decorating his nursery, I went sports.  Not over the top, but just a few details - Clemson football on the shelf, wall hanging with a few sports on it, etc.  Well, he's not a sports guy, he's a train guy...at least right now.  He's too old for "baby decor" but I refuse to decorate his room in Thomas paraphernalia.  So, I made up my own decor.  I made this wall hanging out of his wooden track.  I hot-glued it into a shadow box and removed the glass.  Then I hot-glued on the train.  Jack loves it...except it keeps asking to take it down to play with it!

End of First Grade

Lexi had a great year this year in first grade and she is so blessed to be "looping" to second with the same kids and teacher!  Here are a few pictures from Field Day, her "unbirthday party" and the end of the year festivities.

Mom's Retirement

So, I'm behind.  This was 3 weeks ago!  No worries, I'm just going to bombard the blog with lots of pictures over the next few days, starting with these.  Mom decided to retire after (I think) 36 years!  We've been waiting for this moment for what seems like forever, and we are so thrilled that it has finally happened.  To commemorate the occasion, Katie and I (but mostly Katie) rounded up some old and current colleagues, friends, parents, and students to write letters and send pictures of their time with Mom.  Then Katie, spent countless hours putting it into a scrapbook of memories for her.  We also surprised her with a family trip to beach in July.  We celebrated it all with a small group at dinner.  Congratulations Mom!
